Transportation Management Associations: A Public Private Partnership From Concept to Reality

Thursday, May 24
8:30-10:30 a.m.
Room: Baltimore Convention Center, Room 323

At a time of limited financial resources on all levels, learn about providing new transit services with the support of the private sector through the establishment of a Transit Management Association (TMA). A case example in CT will be discussed, focusing in the service need, the involvement of the private sector, the actual development of the new transit services, the interaction with state and local officials, and the pursuit of a CMAQ grant to complement the private sector funding. A representative of a long established TMA will provide additional information on TMA's, many of which have now been successfully initiated in several areas of the country.

Presenter: Dave White, Coordinated Transportation Solutions, Inc., Ansonia, Conn.
