EXPO 2012 May 20-25 in Baltimore, Md

Off Schedule, Off Route, Off Hours, No Problem! Meeting the Transportation Access Needs of Workers in New and Re-emerging Employment Sectors

Thursday, May 24
8:30-10:30 a.m.
Room: Baltimore Convention Center, Room 324

Changes in a number of employment sectors have significantly impacted the demand for jobs and training, and, with that, transportation access. Building on information presented in Joblinks' new sector-related briefs, speakers and participants will discuss ways in which transportation and workforce leaders have collaborated to anticipate and meet the transportation needs of employees working and training in a variety of sectors. Join us to learn about health care centers that have partnered to create transportation solutions for area workers and trainees, an early morning weekend shuttle that provides access to a major airport for hotel and service sector employees, vanpools that are adapted to serve construction workers, and more.

Moderator: Dan Dirks, United We Ride Coordination Ambassador, FTA Region 6
Presenter: Pamela Friedman, Community Transportation Association of America, Washington, D.C.
Presenter: Shaun Nelson, Detroit Medical Center, Detroit, Mich.
Presenter: Tim Harrison, BWI Business Partnership, Linthicum Heights, Md.
