PASS (Passenger Service and Safety) Trainer

To renew your three year PASS Trainer certification you will need to meet the following requirements

  • Hold current Passenger Service and Safety (PASS) Trainer certification
  • Pass the online examination component
  • Or attend day three of a PASS Trainer workshop
  • To check dates and locations on our training calendar, click here - disregard online examination requirement
  • Pay the required recertification fee

  • Hold current Passenger Service and Safety (PASS) Driver certification
  • Pass the online examination component Or attend a two day PASS driver workshop (Check with your original trainer for dates and locations and disregard online examination requirement if you go this route)
  • Pay the required recertification fee

To renew your three year CCTS certification you will need to meet the following requirements

  • Hold current Certified Community Transit Supervisor (CCTS) certification
  • Pass the online examination component

PDS (Professional Dispatching and Scheduling)

To renew your three year PDS certification you will need to meet the following requirements

  • Hold current Professional Dispatching and Scheduling (PDS) certification

VMMI (Vehicle Maintenance Management and Inspection)

To renew your three year VMMI certification you will need to meet the following requirements

  • Hold current Vehicle Maintenance Management and Inspection (VMMI) certification
  • Pass the online examination component
  • Pay the required recertification fee

CSSO (Certified Safety and Security Officer)

The re-certification applicant must verify continued employment in a qualifying position or employment in a related occupation that keeps the applicant informed about issues and developments in the community transit field. Failure to submit a recertification application at the end of the three-year certification period will result in a loss of certification status.

To renew your three year CSSO certification you will need to meet the following requirements

  • Hold current Certified Safety and Security Officer (CSSO) certification
  • Be employed in a transit or transit-related managerial position
  • Have attended at least 20 hours of instruction within the three-year certification period in safety and security related subjects, covering 5 of the 8 certification subject areas:
    • Leadership and Administration
    • Transit Operations
    • Maintenance and Technology
    • Personnel Management
    • Training and Development
    • Safety Initiatives
    • Security Initiatives
    • Emergency Preparedness
  • File a re-certification application
  • Pay the required recertification fee

CTPA (Certified Transit Public Administrator)

The recertification applicant must verify continued employment in a qualifying position or employment in a related occupation that keeps the applicant informed about issues and developments in the community transit field. Failure to submit a recertification application at the end of the three-year certification period will result in a loss of certification status.

To renew your three year CTPA certification you will need to meet the following requirements

  • Hold current Certified Transit Public Administrator (CTPA) certification
  • Be employed as a state-level transit administration or a closely related administrative position
  • Attended at least 20 hours of instruction within the three-year certification period, covering 4 of the 6 certification subject areas:
    • Human Resource Management
    • Financial Management
    • Operations Management
    • Transit Development
    • Procurement and Contracting
    • Transportation Grants Management
  • File a re-certification application
  • Pay the required recertification fee

CCTM (Certified Community Transit Manager)

The recertification applicant must verify continued employment in a qualifying position or employment in a related occupation that keeps the applicant informed about issues and developments in the community transit field.   • Hold current Certified Community Transit Manager (CCTM) certification
  • Be employed in a transit or transit-related managerial position
  • Attended at least 20 hours of instruction within the three-year certification period, covering 3 of the 5 certification subject areas:
    • Human Resource Management
    • Financial Management
    • Operations Management
    • Transit Development
    • Procurement and Contracting
  • File a re-certification application
  • Pay the required recertification fee
