  2. Six essays, one in each of the core knowledge areas, demonstrating analysis of problems faces by state administrators of community transportation programs.

The exam is a three-hour, proctored test. Alternate formats of the exam will be available for persons with disabilities who provide notification prior to the appropriate application deadline.

When are examinations given and what is the application deadline?

Examinations to become a Certified Transit Programs Administrator (CPTA) are offered each year at CTAA's Community Transportation EXPO. To qualify to take the test at EXPO applicants must apply a deadline that is advertised well in advance of the EXPO. Additional examinations will be offered at other sites as advertised, with application deadlines approximately one month prior to the examination date.
